Black lacy scarf

maRRose - CCC: Black ScarfKnitting, crocheting, making, creating is such a joyful affair to me.
And luckily not just to me…..
Two made-with-love items sold from my Etsy shop last week (causing me to do a happy dance in the kitchen when I saw the notifications).
The chevron baby blanket that was bought by a lovely  – pregnant – lady has already arrived in its new home, and I was chuffed to pieces to read that my customer really loves the blanket.

When I first started thinking about selling my crochet, it did cross my mind that it would be hard to part with things that were made with much care, hard work and love. But I’m so glad I decided to go ahead and do it! First of all, I cannot keep or gift all the things I make at the rate with which I make them.maRRose - CCC: Black Scarf

Secondly, selling my creations is actually making me an even happier person, knowing that the things I’ve created with love are being loved somewhere else on this planet as well! It’s a fantastic, rewarding feeling that makes me like what I do even more!

Giving crochet presents that are well received is equally fantastic and rewarding, so crocheting something for a dear friend who – I think – is my biggest crochet fan, was a pure joy. I gave her a “maRRose – CCC”-gift certificate for her birthday and she said she’d really like a scarf, in black.
The decision what yarn and pattern was left to me.

I knew I had pinned a simple but beautiful pattern (link here) to my Pinterest board quite some time ago, and found it in a jiffy. Don’t you love Pinterest?
Stylecraft “Double Knit Special” in black (shade: 1002) was the yarn I picked out, and this being a nice “in front of the tv kind of project”, it was finished in no time.
The scarf is 35 cm wide and 200 cm long, and I love the lacy look of it!

My friend is vacationing in Brazil at the moment and although there are some signs of Spring here in The Netherlands, she will definitely need this scarf when she comes back to keep her warm and toasty through the last leg of Winter.
