Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’ve surely all been to a buffet before.
The question is: have you ever been to a paper buffet?
Today I had the privilege to do just that, choosing from a wealth of gorgeous paper, that was to go in my very own spiral bound notebook – and I can assure you this buffet was pretty darn delicious (as well as good for the waist line)!
Personally, I love notebooks – and own quite a lot of them. They’re all put to good use – you know, I’m at a stage in my life that I really need to write things down, otherwise I forget…..
So you can imagine my enthusiasm when I received an invitation to attend the special “Traveler’s Company Caravan Event” that the wonderful Amsterdam based store “Miscellaneous” hosted this weekend.
It meant I could hand pick both cover, contents and spiral ring, thus assembling my own very unique spiral bound notebook. One of the craftsmen of the “Traveler’s Company”‘s creative team bound my one of a kind notebook right there and then – really so much fun to watch.
Very happy to add this special notebook to my collection ……
And browsing the gorgeous store while I was there, was not exactly a burden either; “Miscellaneous” truly lives up to the statement on their website: “Refined goods for the home and desk”.
A quick stop at the “De Hallen Amsterdam” – right around the corner from “Misc” – proved to be a good decision as well, as you can see: I ran into lovely homespun dyed yarns and even some spunky crochet and knitwear!
The yarn is from “Undercover Otter”, and the crocheted and knitted coats and skirts are from Rags & Bone.
Thijs Verhaar is the designer of the gorgeous (merino!) scarfs (bottom right).
All in all an unexpected well spent and definitely fun Saturday afternoon!
Love,
Marianne xx
PS: you can still attend the “Traveler’s Company Caravan Event”

What a wonderful few hours! Really like your notebook and the whole concept of creating your very own. I thought the wooden King Kong was kind of cute. And that yarn! Thanks for sharing your wonderful outing.
